In some cases I did not hear from the sponsor and instead drew the same number of countries that the school had in previous years.  The bolded countries are SC countries; those bolded and underlined are permanent members.  I tried to give everyone who requested a side session a current SC member, and the only country without a ‘true’ SC country is the United World College, so I made Nepal the SC country for that school.

Countries still out there if needed: Iran (added because Vista Grande bowed out), Czech Republic, Vietnam and Hungary.

Agenda for the General Assembly with suggestions provided by some of the delegations

Note: After the Mini-mock had broken up, several sponsors expressed concern that the GA agenda was too broad and needed to be narrowed further. Although some sponsors wanted me to do so, at the end of the meeting it was decided to give the delegates some guiding issues but not limit them to those. Thus, the suggestions.

1.                  Terrorism and international security including whether this should these be dealt with by the Hague and port/ship safety;

2.                  Finding and implementing alternative sources of energy including international government and corporations partnering to develop and implement alternative sources of energy;

3.                  Human trafficking including sex trade

4.                  Health care for developing countries including how to get enough doctors to serve in these countries;

5.                  International trade reform including oil and other natural resources with parameters left up to countries of origin

6.                  Deforestation including in the Amazon rainforest and how to repair damages there.

Some of the delegations wanted to change the order of the issues, and include some of the SC agenda items in the GA, but that is a matter that should be discussed in the General Assembly when they convene in November.

Security Council Agenda for November Session:

1.                  Russian bombers and refusal to allow missile defense (especially in Poland)

2.                  Conflict between Taiwan and PRC over Taiwan Straits

3.                  Internal conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo

4.                  Attacks on UN convoys and violence in Darfur and Chad

5.                  North Korean nuclear proliferation

NOTE: If the General Assembly votes at any time that the SC needs to take action on a particular issue, the SC must at least vote to change the orders of the day and consider the motions from the GA
